We take aim at another cover. This time for another exquisite book published in 1989 by Gerd Niepold, “Battle for White Russia: The Destruction of Army Group Centre, June 1944“, which is one of the few detailed books covering (mainly the german side) the Bagration operation that smashed through Army Group Center in the summer of 1944. Obviously the original cover doesn’t do any service to the book so here it is our two versions. We post the original cover for comparison.
A new cover made for the obscure III Panzer Korps at Kursk by Didier Lodieu. An excellent account on the south salient events, where II SS Panzer Korps holds all the spotlights in literature. Here Didier sheds light on the overburdened goals set for the weak III PK to defend the right flank of the advance of IISS PK and extend the front on an area very well defended and with many obstacles and rivers.
